The useful content of the raw materials is getting lower as remote deposits are being developed. At the same time, the amount of the secondary elements and contaminants increases. The composition of the extracted raw materials becomes unstable.

This leads to instability of the raw material mixtures, instability of their thermal processing, increased energy and raw materials consumption and lower quality of the finished products.

Presently, the materials stream undergo manual or automatic sampling. The results, obtained after a long wait, can provide only a rough representation of the chemical composition of the analyzed material due to the complicated nature of the representative sampling and the averaging of samples.

 

As a result, laboratory data is practically impossible to use for prompt process control. This data can be used only for long-term reports or for the rough and often inadequate technology adjustments every few hours.
